Can my original employer file a lawsuit against me

I am working with a company viz. XYZ Software from July 2000. In Feb 2002 end , I came on bench. According to the original contract the company is supposed to pay full salary from first active project irrespective of the market situation or any bench period after the first active project. After coming on bench the company paid a prevailing salary from March 2002 till June 2002 and stopped paying for July 2002. The contract also states that there's a 18 month initial contract with the company and will get automatically renewed if a one month contract termination is not given from either side . I have finished about 2 years with my company including the current bench period.

In the mean time I got 2 projects simultaneoulsy in the same week, one from my original employer & one from another employer with whom I have transferred my visa.
The project from this new employer is fairly longterm & based in my current city of residence.

Can I quit my original employer by giving 2 weeks notice as per the original contract even thought they also have got me a project at the same time as the new employer ?
Can the original employer file a lawsuit against me for not joining this new project?
Can they ask me to pay back the prevailing wages salary which they have incurred as an expense on me during my bench period ?
Please advise
