Hi there,

I am sponsoring my husband. I am doing I-864 But I do not have that much income to show. So, I am not meeting the requirement although we have a joint sponsor. But my husband would like to fill up I-864A. He is beneficiery. He resides in Bangladesh.

please let me know can he filled up I-864A?

Thanks.

No, he cannot fill out I-864A. But he can include his income and assets on questions 24 and 28 respectively of the I-864.

Note that non-US job income cannot be listed; with him living outside the US, the only income he can list is passive income (e.g. interest, royalties).

So, according to question 24 and 28 on I-864 if I put his current income and the cash value of checking and his savings account plus his current cash value of his stcoks, don't I need to submit the transcript or statement for this?
or I do not need to submit any document for his income even if I include his assets.

Thanks again.

You can't list his job income, because he lives outside the US and income from non-US jobs cannot be listed. Any of his non-US income listed on the form must be passive income such as interest/dividends/royalties/pension which are expected to continue after he is admitted as a permanent resident.

For his assets, you will need to submit evidence of ownership and value -- bank statements, brokerage statements, appraisals and loan amounts (if any) of non-liquid assets, etc. and apply the exchange rates.

You don't have to list all his assets; you only need to list the amount needed for the I-864. If you are a US citizen, every $3 of assets offsets the income requirement by $1. So (for example) if your income is $2000 below the required amount, you and he combined only need to show $6000 of assets.
