I am a US citizen. I submitted a petition for a K1 fiance visa on behalf of my foreign fiance. After this petition was submitted and being processed, my fiance came to visit me here in the US using her legal B2 tourist visa. At the point of entry, she was given the full 6 months her visa allows to stay in the US. She has been here with me in the US since entering 2 months ago. We have now just received an I-797 approval of our petition. As opposed to pursuing the fiance visa, should we just get married here after 90 days have passed since her entry? Would she be able to adjust status to a green card after this time without issue? Our intent during this stay on her tourist visa was never to get married, but now we are wondering if that is possible given that she has approximately 4 months in which she can legally remain in the US. Also, does having an approved I-129f compromise our situation? What would be the best way to proceed at this point? I really appreciate all input regarding our complex situation.
