Can L2 visa holder apply for greencard?

Hello,

I came to US on L2 visa. My spouse is on L1B visa. My spouse's company does not sponsor greencard.

As I am on L2, I applied and got my EAD. Now I am working. My employer is willing to sponsor greencard for me.

As I am on L2 and work on EAD, can my employer sponsor my green card application in EB1 or EB2 category? Can my employer file for labor certification, I 140 and I 485 while I am on L2 visa?

Hi Shijaraj,

I too came to US on L2 visa and my spouse is on L1B visa. I have my EAD and am working.
As per your comment you said that your employer can file for the green card application while on L2 visa.
Can you please tell me some more details of the same and also if we can file for my spouse too?

1. Read in one of the site that L2 Visa holder can apply for Green Card. Is this true ? If so what are the procedures and how far its valid?

2. Is it treated as a canditate with H1B applying for GreenCard ?

Any details about this topic is highly appreciable.

2) Cany we apply for green cards as u siad ?and what is the process?
3) can L2 with EAD be there in US after L1 moves out US?

Shijaraj,

You mentioned that you found out that L2 visa holder with EAD can apply for GC. Can you please share your findings so that it will be useful for us. I am in the same boat looking for L2 EAD to GC conversion. Any information given would be much appreicated.

SAME AS ANY OTHER EMPLOYER SPONSORED GC. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT LABOR WILL BE APPROVED.

3) can L2 with EAD be there in US after L1 moves out US? NO. L2 MUST LEAVE US WITH L1

Don't count on getting a GC via L2
