Can I485 be filed one year after I140 approval?

A friend's I140 was approved last March, he was just too busy thinking about everything else and only noticed recently that his I485 has not been submitted !

Could I-485 be filed one year later after I-140 approval? Is there a time limit on this? I appreciate your responses.

Dont know - why not? Unless the I-140 was revoked by the company.

If I am not mistaken, somewhere I read LC and I-140 once approved, they will be valid for life time.

Q178 Is there any validity period in which you need to file for I-485 after I-140 is approved?

A178 There is no validity period of an I-140. One could theoretically file an I-485 even years after the I-140 approval. Nevertheless, conventional wisdom suggests not to wait too long.
