Can I work??

My friends,

My wife is going to apply LC under PERM soon. Suppose I am holding H4 currently, am I able to work as soon as her LC is approved? Or, do I have to wait until she files I-485?

you can work as soon as she get EAD (employment Authorization Card). This can only be obtained after filing a form during 485 stage. Assuming if she applies I-140 and EAD, 485 concurrently after the labor certification, then it usually takes 2 months to get EAD after the receipt of 485. At that point you can work using EAD.
