Can I work, when EAD is pending.

My H1-B (7th year) is expiring on 12/13/2001. My EAD is pending with NSC. We filed our reply for a RFE (in EAD) last week and hope to receive RFE before the H1-B expire. Just in case if the EAD is delayed can I continue to work.

Any input would be appreciated.

get an interim EAD in a local INS office while you are waiting for the real one.

i do not know any more detail. my attorney said i could do it, but i never received one myself because i did not need to. if you have an attorney, ask them. otherwise, call the local INS office to find out.

you have to have a receipt for your EAD application though to get an interim one.
