I filed I-485 in Febuary, 2001 and am working on EAD. If I got laid off by the sponser employer now, can I using this EAD to work for other employer? I still have five month to go to meet 180-day rule.
As for the 180 day rule you may be not be on the right side as the AC21 law is applicable only if you have crossed the 180 days of I-485 waiting from your ND. You should be able to transfer the I-140 to your new employer and apply for the I-485 again with the same old priority dates. Again check with an immigration attorney.
It would be interesting to know if you can continue working on the current EAD and extend it later, while working with a different company!!!!!!
