Can I work after old H1B expired

Hi frields,

I have a question regarding the H1B. My current H1B will expired on May. 1, 2004, and I just told that my H1B extension will be filed soon. According to the processing time, I will certainly not get my H1B extension approved by May, 1, 2004. My question is that between May, 1, 2004, and the approval of my H1B extension, can I still work in the same company?

If you file for H1 extension before May 1 2004 and are in possession of the original receipt notice, you can continue to work based on that receipt notice.
