can I tell the IO that I do not want to change my name anymore?

I sent my N-400 application to USCIS many months ago. Fingerprinting
already completed and so now I'm just waiting like everybody else.

While I was filling out the N-400 application, I indicated that I wanted a
name change. I wrote down the new name "John Smith" (as an example)

After I've had time to think, I don't really want to change my name to
an English-sound name... and I want to keep my old name.

Is it possible to tell the interview officer during the interview that I no
long want to change my name or will this cause a delay or problem?

Thank you! :)

I would not think it would delay your process. I have not changed my name but what i know of is that they need time to prepare your Certificate of Naturalization and if you would like to keep your old name, you can simply tell them so.. and it should be okay.

Thats totally my idea. Maybe you should call and check with an IO?
