I have posted it in the normal CP issues also. But as it is urgent and kind of Post GC also, I have re-posted it here also.
I am a typical Consular processing-Mumbai case and have got IV (valid for 6 months) a few days back and my wife was pregnant. At the time of conuslar interview we were told that once the baby is born, I can visit the Mumbai consualate along with the birth certificate of the new born before proceeding to US. My wife has now delivered a baby. Now when I called up the consulate; they told me that as the baby is below 2 years, we can directly take her along with us to US with a BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Ofcourse, the passport is mandatory in India.
is this OK i.e. will there be any problem if I, my wife we both go directly along with the new-born? Any body has experienced this?
Early reply would be HIGHLY appreiciated as I have to go in 3-4 days time.
Thanks
