Can I take Consulting Job? Pls Help

Hi, I am recently thinking about changing Job (try to relocate and be with my family). One offer is from a consulting company, and it is a "contract to hire" kind of position. And this is a full-time job. I am concerned if that will cause me trouble on my status.

My I-485 is filed on 5/2005, stuck in Name Check.
Pls give me some suggestions or point me where I can do some research. Many thanks in advance.

AC21 law says 140 is approved and 485 is pending for more then 180 days. Sorry but looks like you do not fit in this criteria yet.
