I just got my GC approved 1 week back and got my I551 stamping. I would like to switch employers in a month or two. My spouse GC application as a derivative is still pending. Can I switch employers in a month or two? And will there be any effect on my spouse GC approval?

TIA!

There are lots of threads about that here. At the time of becoming a PR, you had to have the good faith intent to work for the sponsoring employer indefinitely. This means that at that time, you shouldn't even think about changing employers. If you change employers too soon, there may be issues later on.
To avoid problems, it is recommended to wait a substantial amount of time before changing employers. A good rule of thumb is to wait at least 6 months.

I know that when we apply for the citizenship, we need to list the past 5 years employers. if we apply for citizenship say, 8 years, after GC approval. how could CIS figure out that whether we stayed with the same employer right after GC. i asked my lawyer about this. he said he never heard that people's green cards are cancelled because of changing employers though he does agree that changing employer too soon after GC may cause a prblem technically. he suggested to stay with the sponsoring employer for 1 year to be absolutely safe.
