Can I study while waiting for my I-485 approval

Hi I am waiting to have my I-485 approved can I enroll in the US to study in the mean time or do I have to wait for my GC:confused:
 
Universities require some documentation showing that you are legal (or that you fall into some category). Technically, you can apply for any program saying that you are currently in AOS. Contact the program (grad secretary or undergrad secretary, depending on what you are doing) that you are applying to and ask them how to go about this. They should be able guide you. Once you get your EAD, they wont even ask you anything.
