Can I still get green card working from India for a US-based company?

Presently I'm working for a US-based company that sponsored for my green card. 180 days have passed since my I-485 receipt date. I have found a job in another US-based company where my job description is exactly the same as the present one. However, starting middle of next year the new job would involve working from India. Will that jeopardize my green card processing in any way? What will happen if I get an RFE? Should I stick to a US-based job only? Can I still get my green card with an Indian address?

Green card is for future employment. As long as you have been through the labor, 140 and 6 months in AOS, you should be okay to switch companies. It doesn't matter where you live, but where you plan to live on receiving the green card.

This message might find a better response in the 485 portability forum, this is the wrong place for it.

good luck!

yeh GC is for permanent residense. That means you stay in this country and work here. Even after getting the greencard if you stay in india and work there and try to come here for one month only to save ur greencard officer at port might revoke that your intentions of staying and working has changed and your GC might be revoked.
