Can I stamp/revalidate my H1 visa on the spot within US?

Hi,

I need to stamp/revalidate my H1 extension urgently and can't wait for 3-4 months.

Is there any way I can do this within US? I mean can I go to DC personally get my passport stamped on the spot like we can do it in our home country?

Otherwise, I have to go to India and get it done there.

I don't get it that in India, if I go, they will do it in 1-2 days but here why they are taking 3-4 months.

visa processing time is 3-4 months within US and you cannot appear in person. has to be done by mail. Not all types of visa can be revalidated by the state department. check your visa category and apply

Thanks all of you guys. So, can I go the nearest country like Canada or Maxico instead of going to India. What amount of risk is involved in doing so?

You can go to Canada.
Use the nvars site to get an appointment, that could be the hurdle. Try Ottawa they have open interview slots.
You would need to get a canadian visa to go to canad. Read my post "H-1Stamping in Ottawa in Feb"
