Can I Opt for Failing I-485 after approval of I-140?

I have an approved Labor. I wish to apply for I-140, but the same time I don’t want to apply for
I-485.

1. Can I Opt for Filing I-485 after approval of I-140?
2. Otherwise, shall I file for I-485 after 4-5 months of failing I-140?
3. What are the steps involved after failing I-485?
4. How long it will take to get EAD after filling I-485?
5. Is there is any bright chances to get Green Card with out any problems after receiving EAD?
6. If I need to change the employer, at what stage can I change employer?
7. During processing of I-140 shall I go to India with out INS permission? At which stage should I not leave USA without informing to INS?

I really appreciate, if any one answers for my silly questions with little patience…

Assumption: "Failing" was typo for filing.

1. Can I Opt for Filing I-485 after approval of I-140?
=> Yes.

2. Otherwise, shall I file for I-485 after 4-5 months of filing I-140?
=> You may do this also.

3. What are the steps involved after failing I-485?
=> Get finger printing done once you receive Finger Printing notice. After that all you have to do is to wait for RFE/Approval.

4. How long it will take to get EAD after filling I-485?
=> Three weeks to Five months (based on Trackers in this portal).

5. Is there is any bright chances to get Green Card with out any problems after receiving EAD?
=> If everything is in order and lady luck is smiling at you - Yes.

6. If I need to change the employer, at what stage can I change employer?
=> 180 days after filing I485.

7. During processing of I-140 shall I go to India with out INS permission? At which stage should I not leave USA without informing to INS?
=> You have to get AP if your visa has expired during I485 stage. I assume that you will be having a visa during I140 stage.
