Can I just walk-in for FingerPrinting?

Hi,
My FP appointment is on July9th at Oakland, CA. Can I just walk-in anytime before July9? How do I know the timings of the Oakland center?

My Timeline:
05/21/2009: N-400 mailed to PHX PO Box (by regular mail, not certified mail)
06/16/2009: Checks Cashed
05/26/2009: Priority Date
06/11/2009: Notice Date
06/23/2009 : FP Notice Recd (Me)
06/25/2009 : FP Notice Recd (My wife)
07/09/2009 : FP Appointment

Some center do walk in and some do not. If you live close or work close to one go in and ask. You must have the appointment letter with you. I walked in early at Phoenix and it went through fine. In and out in about 20 minutes.

I was also turned away in ATL when I tried to do early FP. However the guard at the door stated that they do not allow walk ins on Tuesdays (I was there on Tuesday) because it is the busiest day of the week and they were understaffed. He suggested I show up the next day for a walk in and while the admission was not guaranteed he said there was a great chance of getting in.

Good point eltoro, I was reading somewhere, may have been here or on the USCIS site that Wednesdays and Saturdays may allow walk ins but I got the impression that not all offices did so.

I guess it just depends how busy they are with appointments.
