i got LC perm approved 2 months back and i-140 approved last week. but i cannot apply for i-485 since my PD is July 2004. My question is -
As per my knowledge, if I decide to change my job now, I will have to file new perm LC and new i-140. But I can hold the PD from my old case, since I have i-140 approved.

Can someone please let me know, if there are any restrictions apply on the type of job I can choose, eg

1. I need to work in the same geographical area that I am working currently.
2. I need to have same job title and same job duties or something.
3. It depends on my current employer, if they decide to use PD for someone else or revoke 140 then I cannot use it or something.

I feel, it is a good option, to change a job now, since big companies file labor after 1 year of joining..but as far as u can hold ur PD for sure, it doesn't matter to you.

Please guide me on this.

Thanks.

1 and 2 doesnt matter, you can have any job title and work anywhere and still retain PD

3 is a bit controversial. Not sure what happens if employer revokes i-140

Guidelines seem to suggest that you should be okay (unless the i140 is revoked by USCIS for fraud) , but many lawyers websites have suggested that you would lose PD even if i140 is revoked by employer (normal non fraud cases)
