Yes, you can give your Texas address. You need to follow two steps to make sure you get your card at your new address:

1. When you go for stamping, tell officer that your address changed. The officer will ask you to fill-up the address on I-89 form.
2. Contact your service center (where your I485 approved from) and update the address for your case - by phone or fax.

Also, file AR-11 with DHS (this does not change your green card mailing address).

pralay ,
Thanks for your comprehesive reply May I ask one more question. Since plastic card is taking more than couple of months and I ma in process of taking job in TX, In th meantime if I have to go for stamping and ha sto give the address change I was thinking of giving one of my friends address will it be OK (He has permannet address)? In any way it does not affect 485 approval or attarct any type of controversy?

I don't see any issue with that. You much put your real address on AR-11. However, for I-485 or other types of USCIS cases there is no requirement of giving your real address. You can give any address where you can receive your all the USCIS mails. Your friend's address should be fine.

arb123, praleys Thanks! My kid is 6 years of age. Thanks for your detailed reply it is very useful. What kind of photoidentification may be required for the minor while going for stamping of PP. We have passport that should be workable or anything else is required? WE dont have any photoID for the school!.
Thanks

AR11 and I-485 address should be same. When we intimated change of address over phone, they send a confirmation letter and also Form AR11
In the letter they indicated clearly that it is not sufficient to inform CIS
but also file AR11 other wise process will be delayed.
