I did my masters from University A and i continued my PhD. at the same university. In total, till now I have spent two academic years at University A. I did not apply for OPT after my Masters degree (i got MS 4 months ago).
Can I apply for a full time OPT now? I have finished my courses requirement for PhD but I have not taken the prelims exam. Am I eligible to get an OPT on PhD degree considering the fact that I am done with my courses? Or, do I have to take prelims for eligibility? My department does not offer any CPT, and that is the reason why I am stuck in this situation. I wanted to do an internship for 6 months and I have already got an offer but it does not look like a favorable situation. Please help!
