Hello everyone,
I applied in Jan. last year (2006) for a J1-Waiver. The documents got lost several times and I had to resend and fax them to the Waiver office.
After several phone calls I found out that the officer who has my case is sick and I can not expect to get a decision anytime soon.
My question is, can I still apply for an F1 student visa even I do not have a J1 Waiver yet? I will get the waiver sooner or later but do not want to wait much longer to continue my studies in the US. I am outside the us now in my home country.
