Can I get a L2 visa converted from an L1

Hello,

I wanted to clarify that if I want to get my L1 B visa converted to an L2, is it possible to do it from USA?

My husband and I have an L1 B visa and my company is not giving me an extention.I want to convert my Visa to L2 so that I can stay here with my husband.
Is it possible?
Also Can I apply for an EAD also with the L2 visa conversion, or do I need to wait to get my L2 Visa before applying for an EAD.

Please suggest.

Yes, you can change your status in US to L2.

You should be able to change status and apply for EAD at the same time. But is it better to get the L2 status first, just to make sure it gets approved, then apply for EAD.

L1 B to L2 convsersion

Hi ,

Myself and my Wife are on L1B in US. My Visa and I-94 has expired in Dec , 2009. My L1B extension is in process. If i don't get
L1B extension, can i change my status to L2 depending on my wife's L1 or do i have to go back to India as my I-94 has already expired.
