Can I file I 485 Legally

Hi Gurus,

I have LC and I140 from my ex company and want to file for II485 with them, but due to economic conditions they are not able to hire me , but due to good relations with my manager he is providing me and "Employment Verification Letter" saying

INS

This is to confirm that company name continues to offer myname for the position of Senior Information Specialist at an annual salary of $XXXXXX, immediately upon the granting of permanent residence by your office.

====

Is this enough to file I-485 on my own with a professional lawyer because I dont want to create any issues for my manager or myself, but we both have two questions

1. we know all the correspondence in I485 is made to employee and lawyer not to the company is it true.

2. Once if GC is approved and the economy is still not recovered and the company is still cannot hire me is there any problem.

Hi,

There is nothing wrong in trying with that letter. Generally all the correspondence is either to you or to your attorney. Wait for 180 days to pass after filing I-485 and use AC21 portability to change employer.

Please talk to your attorney for possibilities/details.
