Can I file I-140 and I-485 concurrently w/o a VISA #?

I am in EB-3 World queue. PD = 4/2003.
My LC got approved 1/2006 and my lawyer said, she will file the the above concurrently.

I thought, I will need a VISA # like everyone here to get the I-485 filed. Is there any benefit for doing that?

Can USCIS approve my I-485 w/o a VISA#?

Are you a Schedule A worker? If so, then you can file concurrent I-140/I-485. Otherwise, you cannot since the current EB-3 World PD is 01-May-01. You will be able to file only I-140. Check the visa dates at:
