Can I file G-28 myself?

I recently changed employer and my new employer is somewhat relactant to help me with immigration.

I worry that I may get RFE wich will go to my old lawyer and I am not sure he will forward the original copy of the RFE to me.

I don't think I need a lawyer at this stage (almost 2 years of I485) , so no point in hiring a new lawyer.

Can I file G-28 myself, so RFE will come directly to me?

Yes, You can send your G-28 all by yourself, you don't need attorney.

A G-28 can be filed only by a lawyer or by a "representative of a religious, charitable, social service or similar organization will appear before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of a person involved in a matter before USCIS."

Hmm, interesting answers

Hmm, interesting answers, totally opposite.
I reviewed the G-28 form and it has checkboxes for:
1. attorney
2. representative of ....
3. other
I guess I will just try the "other"

What is the result?

Did you go ahead and file a G28 and use 'other' category? What did you write? I am in the same boat, not knowing what to do. Also waited over 2 years, just waiting.

Now that RFE were issued, is it too late?

I called uscis about removing a lwayer's g28-- right to represent you-- which is what you are trying to do-- isnt it?

they said to write to the service center, give your info A# eac# etc and say you are withdrawing "your lawyers name" g28 and that notices should be sent directly to you.

call the 800# /service center to confirm this if you like

hope that helps

Thanks sundancekid!

Sounds like a good idea!
