Can I extend AP when abroad?

Hi All,
can I extend AP for my wife when she is abroad?
I heard then when applying for AP person has to be
in US, but my wife has already one AP, and she need to stay longer, so does she need to come back to US to do this?

yes, you have to be in th us

You have to be physically present in the US to renew your EAD/AP. It is also advisable not to leave the US till the AP gets approved.
 
Yes Robi Venkatesh is right..

If you leave country before your ap is approved, the application is considered to be abondened. So better file, get it approved then leave US.
 
If I were in your place...

I'm not a lawyer, but as long as your wife has a valid AP, she can stay abroad. Why don't you apply for her AP renewal, and ask her to come back to the US before it gets approved. Then she can leave again on her new AP. I think its worth the money spent to be on the safe side.
