If your wife's 485 has already been filed without medicals, you will get RFE for sure. You could respond to that or...
I suggest she complete the medical asap. Before she gets her medicals done, ask the doctor if he will give you 2 sealed reports (they normally give 1 sealed + 1 for you ). Call around and find a doc who is accomodating. I don't think it is a big deal if you explain the need. This way you can send 1 sealed copy to INS to amend your applicaiton...why not try? Keep the other one in hand to respond to the RFE if and when you get it.
