Can I do FP in the different local INS office, where is not the office on the FP notice

my I-140 filed to VSC when we lived at Virginia, then we moved to Arkansas. I filed my I-485 to VSC at Arkansas through my lawyer, who lives at washington DC. My wife received the FP notice and she could do FP at Arkansas. However, INS mailed my FP notice to my lawyer and the INS require me to go Washington DC INS office to do FP. It is to far away. Can I do my FP at ARkansas? my lawyer said that he could ask INS re sent a FP notice,which could change FP place to Arkansas, i don\'t think it is good idea. does anybody have similar situation? give me a suggestion please.

ONE OF MY FRIENDS FILED HIS GC IN CALIFORNIA. HE GOT HIS FP NOTICE
IN FLORIDA. BUT HE HAD GOT HIS FP DONE IN KENTUCKY BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DATE ITSELF. Go to the nearst INS office for FP.They will consider.
