Can i Delay Visa Issue

i have already had my interview for dv07 through cp.
but i did not have enough paperwork so they said they will call me when they get it and ask for passport.

the paperwork should be in this week
i am expecting consulate to call me this week but i am leaving country for about 6 days from this Saturday
i want to know if they call me this week and it may take them sometime for them to return passport back which i means i wont be able to travel on sat

can i ask them if its ok if i can give them passport in seven days, after i come back from overseas. has anybody been in similar position where they could not submitt passport straight away and gave the consulate the passport a week later. will consulate refuse visa because i cant give it straight away athough i can in seven days

Hi DVOC7,

1. If your trip is not so crucial why don't you just complete your DV process and then you are free to do whatever you want?

2. But if your planned trip has to absolutely happen then you should call your Consulate and ask them for advice on that.

Just my thought.
