Hi, Friends:

I received REF for my EB1-EA petition from NSC. I am collecting more recommendation letters from the experts in the field of cancer research. I understand that quotation from those letter will help me to better to address each points in REF. Since I don\'t have a lawyer, I am not sure if I can open the letters and quote the useful part for my cover letter. Thank you if you have any idea.

Explaining what is written in the letters in plain English is a very good idea. My lawyer did the same thing in my I-140 petition.

It is not required to keep your reference letters in the sealed envelope. You can even send a copy of the letters. I sent photocopies and kept the original letters.

Here is a tip from INS web site.
http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/scnational/index.htm#H

"The INS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications."

I learned this information in the old NIW/EB1 message board. I suggest you read the old message board before your RFE preparation. I believe that some of the posters are real experts.

Hi,

I got RFE from NSC for my EB1-EA two months back and I collected five more letters. In my response I sent photocopies of all the letters collected and got it approved within a week. I also went thru on my own and there is no need to have a sealed envelope. Hope this helps you.

Arun.
