Can I change my address and keep my EAD after the interview?

HI everyone,

Our I-485 interview is at the end of June in NJ. My husband and I just got new jobs in Michigan starting from July 1st. It looks like we are going to move the day after the interview. My two questions are: 1. Can we change our mailing address after the interview? We are going to keep our NJ apartment for another month or so, therefore if we couldn't change the address, not a huge deal but I'd rather not drive back to pick up the card.
2. I know that they expect the applicants to hand in the EAD card if the interview is approved. But since I am going to start a new job a couple days after the interview and the human resources people will need to see my EAD, can I keep it until I receive my Green Card? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks a lot.

Don't hand in the EAD unless the officer is willing to immediately give you an I-551 stamp in your passport. Say that you need the EAD for a new job so you cannot hand it in yet unless you get the I-551 stamp.

Right after your interview, call the USCIS Toll Free Number and follow the prompts for "address change". There is a guy who at that extension who will take your new address and apply it to any pending applications. You can ask him to make sure the address change is immediate.

If you try to do it via online or mail, the AR-11 can take a week or so to be processed.
