Can I change Address right before I-485 Approval?

Hello Fellow Posters,

I have an apartment LEASE that is up for renewal end of December. The problem is that my landlord wants to raise the rent for the next year while everywhere around us the rents are going down! As a result we would like to move out to another rental apartment in our city.

My worry is that my case is a Nov-01 and can be adjudicated any time in the next 3 months. Will this present any issues with us moving right now?

1. Can I just call the IIO to make the change? Will the change be realtime or can my documents (Approval, or RFE or local-transfer notice) be sent to wrong address? Is there a better way to do this?

2. I will have to file AR-11. Will this trigger an unnecessary RFE or LocalTransfer?

Do any of you have experience moving during the I-485 period this or know anyone who has?

I always think I am the most cautious person in the world... but it seems to me you are even more catious.

My RD is Oct, not not approved, and I am changing the apartment right now.

Don't worry. You can change your address and update the info with IIO. Or you can just go to your local post office to fill out a change address card and the post office will forward your mail to the new address for up to 6 months (check with your post office). Also, do not forget to send the AR-11 form to INS within 10 days of your moving.
