My citizenship interview is scheduled for this week. After the interview, can I move to another place in Bay Area? I currently live under Oakland jurisdiction. After the interview, can I move to Redwood city under Sanfrancisco jurisdiction? My apartment complex is being converted to condos and all tenants are being asked to leave.

I moved after my interview. I informed the officer of my pending change of address and he updated it on his computer right away. I moved out of his jurisdiction but he said that he would try and keep control over my case and asked if it would be ok for me to drive back for the oath ceremony.
The law also states that if you move, the file should be transferred to the new office and that it should be processed as if it were submitted to new office in the first place.....there is no legal basis for a delay if you move.

yes, you can move and file out the AR-11 form mailing it back to USCIS.

what?

I dont think it makes sense to inform USCIS at this stage about address change because it may trigger something you dont want.

I would do mail forwarding at the post office and notify whoever it is at the post office and put priority on becming a citizen first.

Or change the address to someone I know at the same office am having the interview.

Thanks for the feedback. So is it advisable to move elsewhere in Fremont so that I can continue to be in the same jurisdiction?

Sure you can move after interview. But remember:

1. Stay in the same jurisdiction to avoid your file been transfered;
2. File AR-11;
3. Visit your local office and file a address change (Not AR-11); follow up by visiting 2-3 weeks later to verify your address is indeed updated in their system;
4. Call the national customer service toll free # to change your address. They will send you a letter confirmation.

it is by law you have to report the new address whenever you change as long as you are not a US Citizen.
