Hello:

Can I call USCIS to know my status. Will that help having LUD or some action on my application. The current date at TSC is nov 6th 2007. I have a receipt date Sept 17th 2007.

Country : India
Concur. filing : Yes
Sent date : July 27th 2007. (lawyer screwedup and sent to Nebraska, it was supposed to be sent to Texas).
Receipt date at TSC: Sep 17 2007
Lud: 1/4/2008 (Work permit, I-140 and I485)
sLud: green card - 11.18.2008 (my work permit expired on this date did not renew it) I am on extended H1 now.

Is it okay to call TSC and ask status of my application. Will that make any difference to takingup of my application by IO.

Is it advisable? If so which phone number should I call.

thank you.

You can call the national customer service center number and, after following a series of prompts, you should be connected to a person who will take down your information to start a service request. This is when they research cases that are late and send you a letter telling you what's wrong. The number is 1 (800) 375-5283

Many people will argue that these service requests don't help much. However, it certainly won't hurt if it makes them look at your I-140. You may get an RFE though.
