Dear All,

I am going to get my green card through my husband who is a USC next moneth (hopefully). I have a grandma who has no other family members in my home country (my dad, her only son died 9 years ago). Her health is not getting too well now, I would like to bring her to US and take care of her. Please let me know if there is any way that I can apply a legal status for her to stay with me in US? If yes, how long will this take?

Thank you for the advices.

Sorry, you can't apply for grandparents and to look for a solution I thought about adoption (if she adopt you) but it had to happened before your 16th birthday.
Good luck,

GC for grandparents/uncle in place of deceased parent

I am in a similar situaion as Koobe. My mother passed away when I was 7 and my grandparents and uncle (mom's brother) raised me. I was not adopted by them. I am now a US citizen. Any way I can sponsor a GC for them?
Is there any clause to transfer sponsorhip for caregiver in case of deceased parents? Has anyone succeeded in using an attorney.

No, I am not adopted, she is my father's mother. I just want to know if there are special petition for a situation like this. Any advices will be very welcomed.
