Can I apply two I-140 from the same employer

Hi Gurus,
I have a pending I-140 (Eb2) with PD of 2005, I applied this in Jan 2007.
My company has a approved EB3 labor with PD of 2003. I am trying to apply EB3 I-140 in premium to get the earlier PD. Can somebody please answer following questions
1) can I have/apply two I-140's from same employer
2) Does this effect my pending I-140 if I applied for two I-140.

I know a person who applied 2 different LCs and corresponding I-140s from the same company. The LCs represent a different job requirements. I am not sure whether this applies for substitution case.
