Can I apply in person for OCI + SC together for family in Travisa NY ?

Hi guys,

Yesterday I got my US Passport after naturalization. Planning to apply OCI for family ( myself , wife and daughter ).

Since I work in NY, can I apply in person for OCI + SC together for family in Travisa NY ?

Where is your state of residence? If your residence falls in a state that is serviced by NY, then yes, you can. If not, then you need to apply to the consulate that services your state of residence. Working in NY alone does not qualify you to apply through the NY consulate. If you were to send it to NY through Travisa, not sure what they would do but I think they would either send it back or potentially forward it to the consulate of your residence.

I live in NJ and recently completed my naturalization through Newark USCIS center. I got my US passport last Friday. Will it better to apply in person rather than through mail. Travisa NY accepts application in person ? Was wondering any forum members applied in person with travisa NY ?
 
I believe you can apply in person but you will need to take an appointment. I sent it in by mail and had no problems. I know of several others who have done the same. Except in one case where there was confusion on the amount due, every other case went off fine. But if you work close to the Travisa office, you should check to see how soon they can give you an appointment.
