Can I apply for asylum and H-4 simultaneously?

I submitted my i-589 two weeks ago and included my husband. Now we have finished the step of biometrics collection. And today my husband's
company submitted his H-1 application and included me as dependent requesting H-4 visa. So will my asylum application affect my husband's h-1
petition? Anyone knows about this?

I applied for the asylum in April 2011 and filed change of status application from F2 to F1 and got approved within 2.5 months. Also, I got my work authorization card this month. I am still waiting for my final decision. So, I think it should not effect your H2 application.
