can I apply by PERM ??do I have enough Time??

My total H status completes with Dec'06. This oct'05 I got a job also.I got my new H1 visa this year ...
1)In the H1 approval papers it shows valid for this oct'05 to dec'08. But my H status completes by dec'06. Now ignoring the extended timeline I got. Can I apply for GC now.
2)Do I have enough time??
3)Is it true that it takes 3 mos for some stuff(giving ads in papers etc) to do before reallly applying for GC??

Perm takes about 4 mos min. You can extend your Dec06 by the vacation days you have taken till now. Say, you took 4 mos in the last 5 yrs. They dont count on your 6 yr limit. Thus pushing Dec 06 to Mar 06. You start Perm now. If you file before Mar 05, you should be good. Its pushing but possible

You should start the PERM right NOW

In order to qualify for extending your H1b after six years you need to start the PERM right away. That is the only option you have. Hong long it takes does not matter and you can not control it!
