Can I apply a TIN for my wife?

Can I apply a Tax Identification Number for my wife who is waiting for the following to join? I think she is a dependent of me. Anybody have done that?

HI...Yea..go to IRS.gov and see the info...it is very clear...I did not do it..hoping i will get ssn for my wife thru EAD...but may have to get it....will apply myself sometime....

The vague info is life this
1)You can send all the documents with the form to their office urself...somehwere in philly
2)You can go to IRS agents(i dont know what they call) and apply..

I think ITIN is the right one for you.

I applied ITIN for my wife few years back. Its a simple procedure. Refer to IRS website for procedures/forms etc. You've to get the documents notarized.
