Can I add my spouse now?

My priority date is July 2003. I got married last year, can I add my spouse now to my pending 485? What is the experts' opinion on it?

I checked with my lawyer about it, he said we can send an application and see if it gets accepted. My worry is, this will generate inquiries and I don't have any other legal status than pending 485. My spouse has H1 and can use H1 status it for another 4 years. Please let me know if anybody is in similar situation.
