Can I accept new job after RFE responded?

Hi,

I responded to my RFE thru my current employers lawyer 2 weeks ago. My current employer does not have any new projects so are looking to get rid off many people immediately and I'm not sure if I am in that list.

Can I accept a new job immediately if I get one? If yes, what complication could it cause with the current employer since after RFE response I should be preety close to my card?

If I cannot get a job soon and my current employer lays me off and informs BCIS that I no longer work for them what complication can it create with BCIS?

Will they give me some time to find a job similar to my labor approval or how does this work at this late stage?
