Can He apply for citizenship?

This is my story:
Back in the year 2000 my boyfriend went to the US (at that time my country didn´t need a visa to enter the US). The next year, he married a US citizen. they were married for 3 years (approx). Then they got divorced and he met me. He received his GC january 2004. My question is: when can he apply for his citizenship?

Thank you so much for your answer, we had doubts because of the divorce and the time he was married, that´s why i asked.
