Can FP be done in the state other than specified in the FP Notice ?

My attorney gave the address my company\'s corporate office address, which is in NY while filing my 485, but I live in MD. When they got my FP notice, Its written in that I have to do the FP at NY INS. Can I do it in MD instead of NY.

Are there anybody in the same boat?

My attorney told me that you can go to the local INS office on that day and do the FP.

Please share your experience.

My friend moved to CA after filing I-485 but he still had to come back to do FP
