Here is the story of my friend

He came to US on F1. Did masters in Comp Science. Got H1, and currently working. He got involved with an Italian American girl. He was with this female for atleast about 5 years. They never got married.

They have a daughter of about 3 1/2 yrs.

Now they broke up and my friend is paying about $ 800.00 a month as child support

So his Ex-girlfriend is born american citizen. His daughter is born american citizen. and he is on H1 and almost completed 4 + years, and he has not been able to concentrate on GC. He is mentally upset with his situation.

Question is

Can he get some kind of residency based on the situation that he has responsibility towards his daughter until 18. IS there any kind of Visa or can he get GC based on his situation

Your responses will be appreciated

Serious-Reply:

No, he can't get any benefit until the US citizen child turns 18. This option is ruled out.

Pragmatic-Reply:

He must consider reconciling with his woman and marrying her to live peacefully and also to take care of their kid (besides getting his green card).

Non-serious Reply:
It's a shame that your friend can't post a message for himself even though he is a comp. sc. grad. Second, he must be a real crazy guy to beget but not marry and yet expect the woman to hang around him. Third, why is he not trying employment based immigration ?

He must be a nut.

See you are educated and in good spirit too.. but then the spelling of "Clone" was wrong in your id. :) :D :D :D

When someone is emotionally disturbed you do not know how they feel - help if you can - else - just leave them alone.

This forum sees lot of so called 'morality-pundits' who love to decide for others and call them fools without knowing the entire situation.

Unsolicited advice is seldom appreciated

Once it comes on this forum it cannot be Unsolicited. It is person who asking his responsibility to explain entire situation

'Unsolicited' - as it does not pertain to his question. One has asked a specific question on this forum, and is looking for specific advice on the matter.

Slightly 'moronish' - sorry, you tempted me to say. What do you mean, holy sai ?

Do you want to say "irrelevant" in your own little, "sai-ish" way ??

Please be sensitive to other folks who are asking for advice !!!
Anyone can hide behind a computer and act bossy or silly.
