Can EAD trigger approval? Do I need to try?

I have never applied EAD after I filed I485. I have been using H1B that will be expired next Mar. My info is as follows:
RD Dec 23, 2002
FP1 Feb 5, 2003
FP2 Aug 19, 2004
LUD Aug 31, 2004
AD ?

I am not sure if have to extend my H1B or apply EAD. Can EAD or H1B extension application trigger approval? Do I need to try?
 
until now I got 3 EAD, but nothing happened to my I-485 appln,

even I tried address change but still nothing happened.

so I gave up, and just waiting.....
 
I tried a similar way ....waiting for the results...

applied for wife's third EAD renewal day before yesterday in hope that it triggers something on the application...

Very very frustrated not knowing what's going on and seeing many approval around and after my dates...
 
I think you should try. I had my 2FP on 7/26 and submitted my wife's EAD/AP renewal in the middle of Aug. Our cases were approved on 8/30 and we never heard anything about my wife's EAD/AP renewal. The only bad thing I can think of is that NSC will not refund you the EAP/AP fee.

Man!!!!!! Atlast, by god's grace.... My case is approved today11/18/2004.
Hang on everybody your turn will come.

Changed three companies after about a year of filing the 485. Never sent AC21 letter. Never Changed address.

Semi Concurrent. 485 applied before 140 aprroved.

Got RFE in 140, EAD and AP.

Except for 140 replied RFEs by myself

I strongly feel applying Spouse EAD renewal triggered acivity on case.

Name check requested in Sept '04 got reply in one month saying it was cleared long back(dont remember the dates)

RFE replied 11/05/2004. USCIS Recieved 11/08/2004 for self 11/09/2004 for spouse
LUD changed 11/09, 11/10, 11/12, 11/15.
Today at around 5pm got email that SPouse case approved. I logged to check and found my case approved too. I did not get email yet.
AD 11/18/2004!!!
 
All guys! The current processing times in NSC are on May 2002 for I 485. If you filed I485 after May 2002, your case have not been touched for adjudication. Don't worry.

Hi All,

We received FP2 notice in August 1st week for FP2 to be done on sep-13. Applied 3rd EAD on Aug24. Performed FP2 on Sep13 as scheduled. But no change in 485 status as FP2 completed and received . On Oct,21 , we got our 3rd EAD approved as well 2nd AP.

So, I think applying for EAD/AP may not trigger 485 adjudication, unless you are lucky. I guess am not lucky.
