Can dependents attach to the case after the principal file I-485?

Gurus, please help me out.

My I-140 for CP was approved in the end of June and now I am determined to go through the AOS process. However, my husband and my daughter(H4) are out of country right now. The earliest available flight for them to come back to do the medical exam is Sept. 3.

For fear of losing another two months for submitting, I had my own medical exam yesterday. I asked my attorney if he could file I-485 right now and attach both my husband and my daughter later. But he said dependents\' filing has to go the same time with the principal. Is it true? Because I heard somewhere that they may attach later and not lose the original filing date.

I am really deperate and don\'t know which way to go. Wish to hear some experts\' advice soon.

Yes you can attach them later if your PD is current that time...if not you have to wait till ur PD becomes current.

My PD in March 2000 EB2 China (current right now). If my dependents file later, are the cases processed the same time, or later?
