Can Civil Engineer get H1 visa?

Yes you can. So long as you have a degree that allows you to work as a civil engineer. (e.g Civil Enginerring, Structural Engineering etc)

H1B stamping preferable in Canada or Bombay?

Hi folks,
I changed my status from F-1 to H-1 last year. Is it better to stamp in Canada or Mexico, or is it advisable to do it from Bombay (I\'m travelling there next month). If I do it in Canada, I can enter back even if I\'m rejected, but does anyone have any recent experiences if they are strict over there post 9/11 ?
