Many of us know part of the answer. The rest of it is still a big puzzle.
Its a step that USCIS takes somewhere during your I-485 processing.
When ? We don't know for sure. Some say immediately after I-485 is filed.
Again, these are guesses.
Where is it sent to ? FBI.
Is is always sent ? Supposedly. But then, they may miss it too.
Is a response always received ? Supposedly. But then FBI may miss it too.
Or FBI may send it and it may get lost somewhere on its way back.
How many times is it done ? We think once, but maybe more.
Do you get a Name Check Notice ? probably not. None of us have.
Its a very internal USCIS processing with your I-485.
How do you know its done/not done etc ? Send an e-mail to
fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov and send them your A#, Name ( First Last Mid ), Address,
E-Mail Address, EAC# ( optional ), and the fact that you are inquiring about
USCIS processing.
